Therapy For the LGBTQIA+ Community

What to Expect

Maybe you feel confused about your identity, or feel that what you are isn’t acceptable. You might also struggle with how other people treat you based on your identity.

Identity struggles are tough. I’ll work with you to develop self-acceptance and compassion, so you can enjoy life authentically. I do not engage in any type of “conversion therapy”, or shifting people’s identities on what they want them to be. I instead practice evidence-based person-centered, affirming therapy to help clients accept their identities as they are. Identity is something we explore and discover about ourselves, not something we choose.

As a member of the queer community with diverse queer friends, I bring a level of understanding to therapy. I don’t expect my clients to explain everything to me, although I do want to hear about your specific experiences and how they impact you. Because of this, I often have clients from lesser-known queer identities of asexual, aromantic, agender, genderqueer, genderfluid, and demi along with gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual clients. I also understand that sexuality and gender can be fluid and change, and do not expect anyone to fit into a category for the entire lives.

I am here to walk your identity journey with you, by removing shame and promoting self-acceptance every step of the way.
